DESCRIPTION

Sonder is a design exercise and thought experiment. As media consumers, we go through various online experiences daily. Interactions on media platforms are designed by User Experience and Interface designers. This project showcases a specific user experience and how I was able to improve the interface.

The result of the project will likely not be like anything you’ve seen before. I did not design a complete, complex app. Instead, I focused on one specific step within finding a podcast. My final project showcases an initial experience when downloading the Sonder app. I was challenged with many questions, user testing, and prototyping.

MY APPROACH

As a newbie podcast listener, I was struggling to find shows I actually wanted to listen to. Apple and Spotify would simply guess on what I wanted based on what I previously listened to. Makes sense, right? Not really. Thirty seconds into the next "recommended" episode, I would hit the skip button.

After being frustrated, I thought, “there needs to be a better way!” Well, there most definitely is a better way. I created a personalized, single-step process. The process allows podcast users a chance to tell the algorithm exactly what they want to see. Based on your user feedback, Sonder will show you content personalized to your individual interests!

After building out the app in Figma, I recorded and presented a live demo of the process.
